CAMILA MEJÍA
Profession: Visual Artist and Musician.
CULTURAL INFLUENCES:
My Colombian environment; European Surrealism; Rock music from the 60s, especially from the British band The Beatles.
ARTISTIC RESOURCES
Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Mosaic Mural, Music and Photography. These aesthetic elements have allowed me to work and collaborate on several occasions with other fine artists and musicians.
Art interests me and I have devoted most of my life to it. It allows me to express feelings, truths, unrealities and fantasies. For my personal way of seeing the world, life is a surreal abstraction of chaos, nuanced with all the colours of the Rainbow and light on the darkness of the unknown.
"Life and art are the Female Mantis with human head that holds her partner's head while they look at each other"
Dreams and their confrontation with reality are permanent in life.
Reality touches us daily with the colours of the sun, the days of rain, the music of silence, the wind, the sea, chaos, violence, war, corruption, misery and the indifference of human beings who do not react before the debasement of their peers. Observe this mutation of our society and our existence, observe the oblivion that we are living earth ... This encourages me not only to reflect and question, but also to look for forms of expression that allow me to summon and touch the fibres of human sensitivity and thus cause a cerebral metamorphosis for the world and the reality that contains it.
Each of my creations are in a certain way, catharsis of my life ...
